A Broker Associate with Engel & Volkers in St. Helena, Sarah Richards Gansa was raised at a winery in St. Helena and went to local schools.  She got her B.A. degree from Georgetown University and received her law degree from U.C. Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco.   After working in San Francisco as a lawyer on commercial real estate, land-use, and wine-industry-related issues, she and her architect husband, Andrew, moved to Calistoga in 2004.

  

Upon returning to the Napa Valley from San Francisco, Sarah worked as in-house counsel for Kendall Jackson Winery in Sonoma and at a mid-sized Napa Valley winery.  In 2015, she and Andrew started a business together developing high-end single-family residential projects in St. Helena and Calistoga through their company Alla Torre Investments and  Andrew's architectural firm, Mayacamas Architects, www.mayacamasarchitects.com.

In January 2019, Sarah and her family moved to Florence, Italy for almost two years.  Her children attended the International School of Florence (ISF) while Sarah volunteered for Georgetown’s Florentine studies program and took Italian.  While in Italy, Sarah achieved a B2 level of proficiency in Italian and now that she is back stateside, she continues to work to become fluent in Italian.

  

Throughout her time in the Napa Valley and San Francisco, Sarah has been consistently involved in community service projects.  In Calistoga, Sarah was a Calistoga Community Pool Project board member and Governance chair, served on the City of Calistoga’s Pool Advisory Committee, and was a steering committee member on a school bond measure.  In St. Helena, Sarah served as a board member of the St. Helena Public Schools Foundation and on its GiveBIG! Steering Committee.

Sarah and Andrew live on Diamond Mountain in Calistoga with their kids and dogs.
